Duck Egg

A Duck Egg is a throwable item that can spawn Ducks when thrown. It is the primary way to obtain new Ducks and is also used to activate Ducky Portals.

Obtaining

Nesting

Duck Eggs are dropped by Ducks when they complete nesting. The chance of receiving a Duck Egg depends on the Duck’s effective nesting level:

Effective Level Chance
1 100%
2 60%
3 60%
4 30%
5 0%

At higher levels, Ducks are more likely to drop Raw Quackmium instead.

Usage

Throwing

Duck Eggs can be thrown by using them (right-click). When a thrown Duck Egg breaks, there is a 1 in 3 (33.3%) chance of spawning a Duck. Additionally, there is a 1 in 16 chance that if a Duck spawns, it will spawn 4 Ducks instead of 1.

Crafting

9 Duck Eggs can be used to create 1 Calcite. This is useful for creating quality level 4 Duck Nests.

Portal Activation

When a Duck Egg is thrown into an empty Ducky Portal frame made of Block of Quackmium, it will activate the portal instead of spawning Ducks. The portal frame follows the same shape requirements as a Nether portal (minimum 2 blocks wide by 3 blocks tall interior).

Dispensers

Duck Eggs can be fired from dispensers, functioning identically to when thrown by a player.

Sounds

Duck Eggs use the same throwing sound as vanilla eggs.
